It’s that time again! Time for another Influenster VoxBox! If you aren’t familiar with Influenster, it is a social platform where the more you interact with sharing, reviewing, and answering surveys, the more likely you will be selected to receive a VoxBox. A VoxBox is a complimentary box of products for you to sample and share your opinions on! They have boxes for all categories- it just depends on your interests and what areas you interact in. I typically interact in makeup and skincare, so those are the boxes I become eligible for! It is free to sign up, and you just have to slightly annoy your friends every now and then with sharing posts – so it is totally worth it!
I was selected to receive a prestige skincare box from the brand Erno Laszlo, which I have never heard of! So let’s look inside!
I was a little taken aback that there was a brand I had never heard of. I mean- I shop around a LOT. And apparently this Erno guy has been around a while, beautifying the faces of Greta Garbo, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, and Jackie O. So YES PLEASE.
I received the Detoxifying Double Cleanse Travel Set. Straight away you can tell this is a higher quality product. The packaging, and consequently the travel box, is made of very sturdy plastic- a white patterned sleeve that slides over a black ‘drawer’ to store your product.
The Double Cleanse Set comes with a 2 oz bottle of the Detoxifying Cleansing Oil and a 1.7 oz Detoxifying Cleansing Bar. The little black ‘drawer’ is divided so that the side for the soap has holes to let the product breathe and dry.
The travel set retails for $28, and there are 3 other sets targeting other concerns:
Firmarine™ Double Cleanse, with solutions for loss of firmness and elasticity, fine lines and wrinkles, & dryness.
- Sensitive Double Cleanse, with solutions for dryness and uneven texture
- Hydra-Therapy Double Cleanse, with solutions for dryness and dullness.
The Detoxifying Double Cleanse is made for all skin types with solutions for pores, acne & blemishes, and oiliness (Influenster really catered to me on this one!).
The lightweight Detoxifying Double Cleanse Travel Set deeply cleanses to dissolve surface impurities and makeup, even reducing the look of large pores—without leaving skin feeling tight or dry. Detoxifying Cleansing Oil transforms from black to white on contact, where powerhouse cleansing agent charcoal draws out impurities like a magnet. Brimming with sea water and grapeseed oil, the formula delivers energizing minerals to combat everyday buildup for a restored, healthier, and younger look. Following the oil cleanse, the Detoxifying Cleansing Bar is a unique blend that works with the oil to fight toxins and promote natural skin exfoliation, cell turnover, and circulation to create a visibly clearer, more balanced, and soothed complexion.
So many words- let’s see how it stands up to them!
Following the steps inside the box:
- Apply a generous amount of cleansing oil and massage in gentle, circular motion to a dry face.
I’m not sure how generous is generous to them, but the packaging is not my favorite for this. The bulky square bottle doesn’t exactly squeeze, and the oil is more of a viscous gel that kind of gloops out. With no pump or squeezability of any kind, you kind of have to work for it.
- Wet the cleansing bar in warm water & gently massage wet bar over the face. Set aside and use your fingertips to create a rich lather.
The bar never really- foams up. Even after rubbing a bunch of times in my hands and using my finger tips to ‘create a rich lather’…no rich lather is created.
- Rinse thoroughly with warm running water and pat your skin dry for a fresh, glowing complexion.
When rinsing off, I get that squeaky clean feeling, that isn’t my favorite. And because there isn’t any real exfoliation (physically at least), it feels like a superficial squeaky clean.
This is an overall nice cleanser. It definitely isn’t going to replace any of my holy grail products. I do love the little travel set packaging, but even as a travel set- it is a little bulky and non practical. As far as the claims to reduce pore size and help with acne, I’ll have to use it more to really see if it is doing anything for that. Because it is such a squeaky type of clean, I like to use it only about once a week, and with my Clarisonic to double it with some physical exfoliation. It still doesn’t foam up though! So I don’t know man..
TLDR: These sets would be a great intro to the brand- I’d love to try out one of the other ones!
Have any of you tried anything from this brand before??
I received this product complimentary for testing purposes.
