Leslie here with another super exciting review, powered by BrandBacker! I was able to get my hands on the new Nimni Cream from Hydropeptide through a Brandbacker campaign and I’m ready with my thoughts. Let’s take a look at this geneticists developed facial wonder!
Hydropeptide Nimni Cream, available in two sizes: 0.5 oz for $110 & 1.7 oz for $220.
Complete with a very punny ad campaign- Would you let a doctor in your genes? I ain’t even mad about it.
This product is supposed to ‘turn on’ and transform your skin, significantly improving the appearance of skin’s fullness and elasticity.
- Combines Dr. Marcel Nimni’s revolutionary research on collagen with time-release retinol to rejuvenate skin and lessen the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Helps improve skin’s fullness and elasticity.
- Helps to optimize collagen production through an exclusive, patented amino acid complex.
- Appropriate for skin that is not sensitive, especially those with expression lines and concerns with wrinkles and/or loss of facial volume.
The Application/First Impressions
For starters, this is in a jar packaging. I am not the biggest fan of this kind of packaging- it does not help to protect the ingredients and is not the most sanitary. This product is also very heavily fragranced. It doesn’t smell bad by any means, but added fragrance can irritate skin. And with this product already having pretty powerful ingredients, the fragrance is a red flag for me.
My jar of cream seems to be really yellow compared to their photos on their website, but maybe that was editing on their part just to make it ‘prettier’? Who knows.
I used this product at night after all other treatments and serums. There were some nights where this irritated my skin – depending on the day. But it does say it is BEST suited for skin that is not sensitive. The sensation was not unbearable, but I could definitely feel some slight burning or itching on some days. Directions say to begin use twice a week and increase with tolerance.
One thing I am finding really hard to get past about this product is the texture. It never fully sinks into my skin, and if I touch my face or rub it pills up and balls up and I find myself trying to rub it all away. Like it is a thicker layer sitting on TOP of the skin that I need to rub off like a dried glue stick. Which, sure, I shouldn’t be touching my face that much. But I have so many steps that I like to do in my skincare, and sometimes I want to put an oil or another moisturizer on top of this. But the texture does not work for that.
This has to be the LAST step in your regimen, and I personally can only stand it if I do it right before bed so I don’t touch my face too much.
I did not notice any breakouts from this product, but it did dry me out just a little bit.
I did notice smooth skin after using this- my fine lines and pores were all plumped up and my skin had more volume. Was it as drastic as I was expecting? No. I wanted my forehead wrinkles to be more noticeably diminished. But I haven’t really had the product long enough to see the full results. Especially since you have to start with only twice a week!
I have no doubt that with regular use this will continue to plump my skin, and diminish pores and wrinkles. I will have a better grasp on HOW much once my jar is empty. However, this isn’t a cheap product. There are just a few too many ticks in the ‘cons’ column for me to say that it is 100% worth the price-tag.
