First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer | REVIEW

Hellooooo- Leslie here! I’ve been using the new Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer from First Aid Beauty (that is a long ass name for a product) for about a month now, and what started as mixed feelings turned into a love affair. So here is my full review of it!

The Product:

First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer, $28 for 1.7 oz– which is more than a typical primer, but about the same as a typical moisturizer.

The Claims:

A superfood-powered, oil-free priming moisturizer that brightens, smooths, and visibly blurs pores and imperfections while leaving skin with a natural, dewy glow. It contains light-reflecting particles to give a luminous finish…but it is supposed to help blur pores and texture. So it seems like a miracle product!

This product is noncomedogenic, allergy-tested, and suitable for all skin types, even sensitive. It is also formulated without artificial fragrance and colorants, alcohol, lanolin, propylene glycol, mineral oil, petrolatum, and PEG’s. However, it does contain some ‘key actives’ like coconut water and mineralized quinoa. NEAT! And although there is no artificial fragrance, there sure is something in there that makes it smells AMAZING- maybe the coconut water. It reminds me of my Alaffia Everyday Coconut Face Toner, which contains coconut water.

Application & Wear:

Aside from smelling just divine, this moisturizer FEELS nice. It smooths over easily and sinks in quickly- its almost cooling too. It really does blur out fine lines and pores, but the ever so slight shimmer imparts such a gorgeous glow to the skin. My face looks glowing and healthy, but not greasy in any way.

dat glow!

Makeup applies beautifully over this, but I’m not sure if it helps to prolong the wear at all. I do get a touch shiny throughout the day when I use this, but I don’t feel it on my skin, like some pore minimizing primers. There is no heavy, silicone feel to it that can make you feel just icky after a few hours. So if you battle oily skin like I do, then you may need some sort of mattifying powder or setting spray over top everything.

How does it compare??

I would say this is the perfect combination of Becca’s Backlight Priming Filter and Too Faced HangoveRX Replenishing Face Primer. (I thought that Becca’s Backlight Priming filter has coconut due to the strong scent but NO! It is ADDED fragrance. So another point in the FAB column.)

The Hangover Primer is extremely hydrating, almost too much for me, and the Backlight Filter offers such a beautiful glow to the skin, but not a ton of skincare benefits. Hello FAB is the best of both! And much more suitable for oily skin than the Hangover. That thing leaves me RULL greasy (it is not oil-free). I have never tried the Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer – it says it is skin smoothing and hydrating! So I may need to get on that. Have you tried it? Do you like it??

The Verdict:

As you may have guessed, I have fallen in love with this moisturizer! It makes mornings so easy- being a two in one product. For days I want a refreshed, glowing, and healthy face, I know I can always count on this to do the trick. And did I mention it smells glorious?! Highly recommend!
